Watch Shane Lowry's club Esker Hills celebrate as he wins The Open Championship

Shane Lowry's local club Esker Hills was the place to be last night as the Offaly man won his first major.

The Irishman won the €1.7 million tournament last night, and his home club were delighted as they celebrated by singing at the top of their lungs while watching his win.

The Offaly man cruised to victory on Sunday to claim his first ever major, winning by six shots in the end.

And in a video posted to Twitter, members of the club can be seen celebrating as he wins the tournament comfortably.

And it isn't the only video going viral from the weekend.

Shane Lowry belted out The Fields of Athenry after winning the Open on Sunday.

The Offaly man was filmed singing the song in a pub with the Claret Jug in his hand.

It came after Lowry dedicated the win to his family and fans after a phenomenal week saw him clinch his first major.

In a speech after his trophy presentation, he was lost for words after a momentous win in front of a big Irish crowd at Dunluce Links.

Lowry said: "What can I say? I just have so many people to thank, first of all the R&A for such a great event.

"To have an Open here on the island of Ireland and at Royal Portrush is amazing. I love this place and to be able to come here and play an Open was great.

"A lot of people in my backroom team: my coach Neil (Manchip), my caddie Bo, my management team - I definitely wouldn't be standing here without them."
