An Irvine man’s van was targeted by a thief on Friday night.
Kenny Prince was alerted to the incident by the surveillance cameras outside his home.
He said: “I was watching TV when the alert went off, by the time I got my shoes on and ran out, he had already taken the driver’s side door trim.
“They’ve also damaged the paint work.”
The culprit was filmed at the van while wearing a high-vis jacket.
Kenny added: “It’s a pretty bizarre situation.”
This is the second time Kenny’s van has been targeted by brazen thieves.
“It’s sickening. But I’m hopeful the person will be caught soon as they have left traces of their DNA behind,” said Kenny.
Kenny has praised police officers for all their efforts since the matter was reported to them.
A spokesperson for Irvine Police said: “Police were made aware of an incident in which a vehicle was targeted whilst parked on a private driveway on Friday evening.
“Enquiries, including forensic examination, are ongoing at present to identify the person(s) responsible.”
