Watch: Sean McVay was mic’d up for Rams’ big win vs. Jaguars

Sean McVay can run a bit hot on the sideline, showing a fiery passion that many coaches don’t necessarily have over the course of a game. That probably has to do with the fact that he was a college wide receiver and also the youngest coach in the league at just 35 years old.

During the Rams’ win over the Jaguars on Sunday, a win that snapped their three-game losing streak, McVay was mic’d up on the sideline. This isn’t the first time he’s been wired for sound by the Rams, but it’s a good reminder of how intense and energetic he is over the course of a game.

One thing you’ll notice with McVay is he always seeks out the guy who just made a big play and make sure they know he recognizes their efforts.

“Hey, better way to make up for it!” he told Van Jefferson after his touchdown catch, which came after Jefferson dropped a third-down pass earlier in the game. “Hey, look at me. Great job, man. Awesome job. Great decision. Love you, buddy.”

Later in the video after Odell Beckaham Jr. scored his touchdown on a fade route, McVay went over to him and joked that he wasn’t even sure Beckham was running the route because of how he slow-played it.

“You were so patient I thought you weren’t even running it at first,” McVay said before turning to Matthew Stafford and saying, “He’s a beauty.”

It’s no wonder guys love playing for McVay in L.A.
