WATCH: Scotland goalkeeper's World Cup Q&A as we return to her old school

Calderglen High School in East Kilbride has paved the way for rugby stars Jonny Gray and Al Strokosch to reach the Rugby World Cup.

And tomorrow Scotland football star Lee Alexander will become the latest high-profile alumni to reach the elite stage in sport when she jets off to France for the Women's World Cup .

The Glasgow City goalkeeper spent her formative years playing on Calderglen's pitches and ahead of the pinnacle of her career, we dropped in at her old school to hear from some of her former teachers.

Some budding footballers were also able to put questions to the Scotland number one, which you can also watch in the video above.

It's 21 years since Scotland last made a World Cup at senor level and Shelley Kerr's history-makers will make their maiden appearance at a finals on Sunday when they kick-off their Group D campaign against Phil Neville's England in Nice.

Matches with former champions Japan and Argentina will follow on June 14 and 19, respectively.

Lee will become the latest Calderglen pupil to make it all the way to the top of her field, following in the footsteps of fellow ex-pupils Al Strokosch and Jonny Gray.

Glasgow Warriors lock Gray and Strokosch, formerly of French side Perpignan, both played in the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England. Strokosch retired in November that year, while Gray this year helped Scotland retain the Calcutta Cup in the Six Nations.
