WATCH: Schoolboy Q says the Lakers need to keep Lonzo Ball

Everyone has their opinions on sports. Fans (and haters) of the Los Angeles Lakers are no exception as everyone has been giving their two cents on how the team can turn things around after missing the playoffs even after their biggest free agency signing in recent memory in LeBron James. In classic, random Lakers fashion, the newest person to give their opinions on the state of the team is none other than rapper Schoolboy Q.

As a South Los Angeles native, Schoolboy Q has been a Lakers fan his whole life. In his fandom, he joins many other rapping celebrities such as Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and his fellow labelmate Kendrick Lamar. Schoolboy was asked by Bleacher Report about what the team needs to do to return to prominence again, and his first step was actually keeping Lonzo Ball.

Schoolboy had some good points regarding why the Lakers should hold onto Ball, including his fit with a star player like LeBron:

Because I feel like with another star player, and he loves to facilitate the ball, he doesn’t seem like he’s really interested in scoring a lot. He plays great defense, he pushes the ball up fast and I think that’s what we need…to speed the pace up a little bit more.

That’s some pretty good analysis from one of my personal favorite rappers! Good job, Schoolboy Q! Unfortunately, he immediately followed up his praise for Ball by laying out his second step: get Anthony Davis.

Yeah — about that.

The Lakers probably wouldn’t be able to get Davis without trading Ball along with Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and others. The only other option would be waiting until he’s a potential free agent in the 2020 offseason. Something tells me that the Lakers won’t be patient for that long with the fact that James is 34 years old and can be a potential free agent himself in the 2021 offseason.

Schoolboy Q listed three other steps to fixing the Lakers’ franchise, including forgetting about that whole Magic Johnson thing, fixing the coaching situation, and lastly:

Five, they can sign me, I would go crazy.
