Watch: Sam Pittman on what makes Georgia football so special

Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman left Arkansas for Athens in 2016 and has transformed the UGA line into one of the nation’s best.

In a recent video posted by the Georgia football Twitter account, Pittman said that coaching at Georgia is something he has always dreamt about. He further explained what makes the game of football and the University of Georgia so special.

Pittman has recruited better than any just about anybody in college football, and this year appears to be no different. Currently, Georgia has four offensive line commits in the 2020 class, including five-star tackle Broderick Jones. In Pittman’s short time in Athens, he has signed four five star prospects – five if you include Jones, who has not yet signed. Prior to his arrival, John Theus was the only five-star offensive lineman to sign with Georgia in 15 years.

But what Pittman has been able to do with this year’s Georgia offensive line is truly special. Winning without a stout offensive line is awfully hard to do, and thankfully Georgia has an incredible group for the 2019 season.

The Dawgs are basically three deep at every position, with Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, Jamaree Salyer, Clay Webb, Trey Hill, Ben Cleveland, Isaiah Wilson,  Justin Shaffer, Warren McClendon and more.

The majority of those guys listed would start just about anywhere in the country.
