He's already having a brilliant year with a Brit Award under his belt, a top 30 iTunes hit and a growing fanbase worldwide and 2019 got better for Sam Fender on Tuesday night when he was followed by two of his heroes.
The North Shields singer was the toast of the North East at the end of last year when it was revealed that he'd won the Brits Critics Choice award and then headed down to London for the big ceremony, when he was interviewed live on TV and even name checked a Greggs vegan sausage roll!
Sam is the holder of a much coveted Greggs VIP card , recently met Geordie music legend Sting after The Police frontman went to one of his gigs in Canada, but something happened this week that might even top all of those things.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Sam revealed he'd just been followed by Ant & Dec on Twitter and he was just a bit excited as you can see from the video above, referring to them as "the two treasures"
Sam has been massively busy on both side's of the Atlantic recently, appearing on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and CBS This Morning in America and making his debut in Radio 1's Live Lounge to cover an Ariana Grande track.
And in three months time he will play a massive homecoming gig in Tynemouth as he headlines one of the nights of this year's Mouth of the Tyne festival.
Organisers revealed that his show was the fastest selling in the history of the annual event.
