Watch: Saints fans welcome the team home after Chicago business trip

New Orleans Saints fans are a passionate bunch, and that’s been clear to see in recent weeks. They’ve traveled well to a series of Saints road trips against the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chicago Bears, making their presence felt with loud cheers throughout each game. And they’ve been eager to embrace backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, vaulted into the starting job while Drew Brees works to return from thumb surgery.

By the time the Saints took a commanding 36-10 lead over the Bears, Saints fans were chanting “Teddy, Teddy,” so loud that it was picked up by the FOX broadcast covering the game. You earnestly love to see it.

On top of that, some members of the Who Dat Nation turned out to welcome their team home from late Sunday night after the Saints returned from their Week 7 win at Chicago. The team’s flight back to New Orleans reportedly arrived around 11:30 p.m. CT, with players and coaches departing the team facility on Airline Drive a little after midnight. Check out the Saints fans lining the streets to welcome them home:

There’s a chance that fans have seen the last of Bridgewater this season, with Brees expected to return to practice this week in hopes of suiting up for next week’s home game with the Arizona Cardinals. If that’s the case, it’s tough to complain about Bridgewater’s performance in leading the Saints to a 6-1 record on the year so far, winning all five of his tarts in relief of Brees.
