WATCH: Royal Navy crew salute NHS staff on River Clyde in show of thanks amidst coronavirus lockdown

This was the heartwarming moment a Royal Navy vessel sent a salute of gratitude to NHS staff in Clydebank.

The HMS Tamar was heading up the Clyde earlier today when those on board stood to attention and saluted staff at the NHS Golden Jubilee Hospital – and even gave them a toot.

Humbled staff can be heard saying “Aw they’ve given a salute as well, look” and “how kind are they?”

Members of the Royal Navy all stood to attention as they past the hospital in Clydebank as an act of respect to the dedication of the NHS on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.

On Facebook the NHS Golden Jubilee Hospital said “You made our day!”

“So humbled to receive a toot and a salute from those on board Royal Navy HMS Tamar as they passed the Golden Jubilee on the River Clyde today, acknowledging the work of NHS staff everywhere.”
