Watch: Rod Wood leads tour of Lions practice facility in Allen Park

Earlier this offseason the Detroit Lions Chief of Staff Kevin Anderson walked fans through alterations being made to Lions facility for reopening and now with training camp set to begin today team president Rod Wood leads another tour of the next round of changes.

The moment Wood steps into the building he needs to stop at a station to get his temperature taken. What’s interesting about this initial meeting is that based on the Lions coaches arrival video released yesterday, you can see that this station has already been upgraded.

Wood’s next stop was at the training room where they have socially distanced the training tables, including spreading them out into hallways to create space between players needing attention. The dining room has also been expanded, by creating a tented area outside of the building

Throughout the high traffic common spaces, there is new signage that is set up reminding people to wear masks and stay six feet apart. There are also cleaning wipes and hand sanitizers stationed to maintain cleanliness.

The indoor practice field has been partially converted into a team meeting room, where the Lions can fit all coaches and players in one open space at the same time while maintaining distancing protocols.

Finally, the lions have a temporary trailer set up outside for COVID-19 testing which figures to be one of the first stops of the day as players begin arriving in Allen Park today.
