WATCH: Robert Williams III scores 14 points, 9 boards vs. Jazz (3/16)

Boston Celtics reserve big man Robert Williams III continued to make a case for shedding the reserve title with his outstanding play against the Utah Jazz in Boston’s 117-109 loss at TD Garden Tuesday night. The former Texas A&M standout leads the bench unit in intensity as much as he did scoring.

Timelord put up 14 points, 9 rebounds and assists and 2 blocks in 22 minutes of game time, helping pick up the slack for teammate Tristan Thompson, the Canadian center who missed the game because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Williams commited just 2 turnovers and 1 personal foul over that stretch, and connected on 7-of-10 field goal attempts.

While big man Daniel Theis can legitimately lay claim to the starting role at the 5 for the team for now, the Louisiana native’s growth as a player this season has been nothing short of meteoric.

Watch the clip of his highlights against the Jazz on Tuesday embedded above that was produced by Tomasz Kordylewski, and get ready for another round of action for Williams against the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday night.
