WATCH: Robert Williams III blocks shot all the way to halfcourt logo

Boston Celtics rookie center Robert Williams III is called the “Time Lord” because of a playful theory surrounding his first NBA mishap. However, Williams’ nickname also doubles as a warning for players who would dare test his shot-blocking process.

Test his defense and Williams will explode vertically, seeming to stop time itself before swatting a would-be basket away like a fly.

Williams, who had 37 blocks entering Tuesday’s contest against the Wizards, added a memorable rejection to his Rolodex midway through the second quarter when he blocked forward Sam Dekker’s floater attempt all the way back to the halfcourt logo.

Williams, the 27th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, is a player that the Celtics are hoping can develop into a key rotation player with his athleticism, rebounding prowess and interior defense. He’s made quite the impression on Boston this season and Tuesday’s game is providing him with yet another opportunity to showcase his tantalizing potential.
