WATCH: Rob Gronkowski leaves lasting mark with Patriots

Well, now the New England Patriots definitely won’t forget about Rob Gronkowski.

The Red Sox honored the now-retired tight end and his Patriots teammates for their Super Bowl championship at the Red Sox home opener on April 9, where Gronk thought it’d be a good idea to use the Lombardi Trophy as a baseball bat. How very Gronk of him.

In a video from the Patriots’ Twitter account, you see him egg on Julian Edelman to toss him a pitch. The gasps in the background when he then bunts the ball tell you only Gronk thought he would actually go through with it.

The ball left a pretty sizable dent in the trophy, but it’s really not that big of a deal. See: five other Super Bowl wins for the Pats. They’ll be just fine.
