Watch: Rishabh Pant gees up Mohammed Siraj amid Australian boos in Adelaide

Mohammed Siraj got fired up after dismissing Australia's centurion Travis Head and gave the hometown boy a send-off that the Adelaide crowd did not like and started booing the Indian bowler on the second day of the pink-ball Test.

Head played a remarkable knock of 140 runs from 141 deliveries, establishing a commanding position for his side after the hosts had bowled out India for a mere 180 in their first innings.

Head, who had previously secured match-winning centuries against India in both the ODI World Cup final and World Test Championship final in 2023, struck 17 boundaries and 4 sixes during his innings.

Siraj clean bowled Head, after which the Indian pacer said a few words in an angry outburst as Head departed but not before throwing a few words back at Siraj.

The spectators responded with thunderous applause for Head's performance, but subsequently began jeering at Siraj's every movement on the field.

In a video that emerged following the incident, India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant could be seen jogging up to Siraj and geeing him up by putting an arm around his teammate.

Australia were bowled out soon after Head's dismissal for 337, which gave them a commanding first-innings lead of 157.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj took four wickets each.
