WATCH: Report says Kevin Durant is declining $31.5M player option

Kevin Durant is expected to miss nearly all of the 2019-2020 season after tearing his achilles in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, but that isn’t going to stop one of the NBA’s best players from getting paid.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday that Durant is declining his $31.5 million player option with the Golden State Warriors, and will become a free agent at 6:00 p.m. ET on June 30.

Where will Durant land? He has been linked to both the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets, but there’s also a chance Durant could sign a supermax deal with the Warriors with the intent to work out a trade next year.
