Watch Red Hot Chilli Pipers take over Scottish football stadium as they record new album

This is the moment the Red Hot Chilli Pipers took over a Scottish football stadium with an army of young pipers.

The famed traditional rockers packed 275 prodigies into Tynecastle stadium to record a special rendition of Highland Cathedral for their upcoming album.

Accompanied by the piano, the gathering launched into a rousing rendition of the Scottish classic in the video posted on the troup's Facebook page today.

And the Chilli Piper leading the mass band even managed to get a sly dig in at the Edinburgh side.

Before striking up, the Aberdeen fan joked: "While I don't think it's a Guinness World Record, it's the most amount of fans that Hearts have had a stadium in a long, long time.

"Despite being an Aberdeen fan, my boys are Hearts fans, so could you put your hands together to Heart of Midlothian for allowing us to use the facility."

"Scotland is the definition of perfect and you should all feel so proud."

While Angela Webster commented: "This was amazing - I get emotional everytime this is played - what a fantastic idea. You are all awesome in so many ways."

And Wendy Goodall said: "A huge thank you to The Red Hot Chilli Pipers for giving so many kids a day to remember!"
