The Washington Football Team has made it clear that they are going to give the ball to rookie RB Antonio Gibson early and often. He’s rewarding them for that heavy workload, as well, capitalizing with an early touchdown run that put Washington up 7-3 over the Cowboys late in the first quater.
Already in the first quarter, Gibson has 9 touches for 33 yards and a touchdown, and it seems that every play they can, they are giving him either a run play for a solid screen or checkdown out of the backfield.
In his first nationally-televised game, Gibson seems to be making a point to get his name out into the NFL ether, helping his team take an early lead.
