Watch Rangers star Ianis Hagi's epic Romania moment as Germany wonder goal leaves Champions League winner looking lost

Rangers star Ianis Hagi caught the eye for Romania as he fired in a spectacular solo strike against Germany in World Cup qualifying.

The attacker was picked to start against Hansi Flick's superstars who went in having won five of their six games so far.

Romania had enjoyed a strong start too however and were just five points behind the Germans at the first whistle.

Hagi started on the right of a midfield four and was tasked with doing some damage against a star studded German side.

And he wasted no time as he marauded in from the right and turned Antonio Rudiger inside out.

Rudiger, a European champion at Chelsea, was no match for the Rangers man as he jinked outside and in, knocking the ball through his legs on the way past.

He then unleashed a fine left-footed effort beyond Manuel Neuer that gave the Romanians an early lead.

Steven Gerrard will likely have been watching closely and it's more impressive form from the 22-year-old who had become an important player before the international break.

As the son of legend Gheorghe, he's a big deal back home and Romania fans will hope he can fire them to their first World Cup since 1998.
