Watch Rangers star Ianis Hagi given Adrian Mutu masterclass as postage stamp free-kick tips produce stunning results

Ianis Hagi has already proven at Ibrox he knows his way around a free-kick but like all good players, he clearly acknowledges every day is a school day.

And who better than Romania under-21 coach Adrian Mutu to teach him ways to sharpen up a technique that has already seen him send the grand old stadium into bedlam when he scored from 25 yards against Braga in last season's Europa League.

Mutu turned out as a striker for the likes of Chelsea, Fiorentina and Juventus in a top level career where he notched 160 goals.

And a brilliant video has emerged of the 41-year-old working with the Rangers kid on free-kicks.

The coach is seen showing the youngster how your standing position can affect the whip of the ball before Hagi sets himself and pings one into the top bin.

Hagi has been in and out of Steven Gerrard 's starting XI this season and has dropped down a level from the Romanian top team after talks with Mutu.

And the under-21 coach believes a spell at the lower level can raise his confidence levels.

He said: "Ianis' confidence has been affected and he has not been starting so much for Rangers in the past few weeks either.

"I will speak to him and I am sure playing for the 21s again will give his confidence a big boost.

"I know exactly what Ianis is capable of and for me to have him in my squad is a good thing. He will be able to help the rest of the players enormously.

"With lanis, I've known him from a young age and he is the perfect professional.

"If he plays well against Denmark, both the national team and Rangers will benefit from it.

"For sure he will be 100 per cent ready and motivated to play for us."
