Watch Rangers Jermain Defoe's pal Rio Ferdinand react to incredible atmosphere at Hampden Park

Rio Ferdinand was blown away by the atmosphere as he watched Rangers play Celtic at Hampden Park yesterday.

The football legend stood in the stands as the Hoops beat Rangers 1-0 in the Scottish League Cup Final on Sunday.

Rio, 41, was there to watch pal, Jermain Defoe play for the Gers in yesterday's clash.

In among the roaring crowd, the former centre-back took to social media to praise the electric atmosphere at Hampden, despite the horrendous weather conditions.

On Twitter Rio wrote: "The atmosphere at Hampden Park is (fire emoji).

"Currently 1-0 @CelticFC . . .  10 minutes left and @IAMJermainDefoe is now ON the pitch!"

The footie star attached a video clip of fans singing in the stand towards the end of the game.
