Watch Rangers fans flood through gates 'opened from inside by fans' after turnstile chaos at Kilmarnock

This is the moment hundreds of Rangers fans flooded into Kilmarnock's Rugby Park after kick-off when a gate was 'opened from the inside by fans'.

Supporters of the Ibrox side were left seething when the turnstiles stopped working correctly.

Fans were left outside for around fifteen minutes - after forking out £27 for tickets.

Video footage shows mounted police standing guard as the crowd grows increasingly irritated.

A gate is then opened next to the turnstile and fans are seen flooding in.

Reports from the stadium suggest it was Rangers fans who opened the gate from the inside.

Police have confirmed their officers did not open the gate. Kilmarnock Football Club are yet to comment on the issue.

The footage shows more officers being drafted in following a loud cheer from the supporters as the gates are opened - sparking a surge forward into the ground.

The club's supporters liaison officer, Greg Marshall, wrote on Twitter: "The club are aware of incidents prior to the match where a ticketing access failure led to large number of supporters remaining outside at kick off.

"We have requested Kilmarnock investigate this issue."

Ahead of the game fans raged on Twitter the number of Rangers punters stuck outside was into the 'thousands' while others pleaded for the game to be delayed.

"The incident resulted in the roof of a shelter being collapsed and one man was injured.

"He received medical attention at the ground.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

Kilmarnock FC have also been approached for comment.
