Watch: Rams DL coach Eric Henderson mic’d up during practice

The Los Angeles Rams made changes to their defensive line this offseason, both player-wise and on the coaching staff. As far as the coaches go, the Rams moved on from defensive line coach Bill Johnson and hired Eric Henderson, formerly of the Chargers, to take his place.

Like most coaches, Henderson has a fiery and intense side, but he’s also funny and comes across as having a great personality. You can see that in this video of him mic’d up during practice.

There isn’t much for specifics with regards to what he’s teaching the defensive linemen. He preaches having “violent hands,” which is important for players’ initial punch off the snap. Henderson noted Sebastian Joseph-Day’s fire in one drill, saying “you got a little fire in you, six-nine.”
