The Los Angeles Rams defense was carved up early against the Oakland Raiders, but the group locked down as the game went on. In the second quarter, cornerback Kevin Peterson made the play of the night, intercepting Mike Glennon and returning it 11 yards.
He jumped the route down the seam after dropping into his deep zone, crossing right in front of the receiver for the pick. It was a great read by the young cornerback.
Peterson is battling for a roster spot at cornerback, which will be difficult to secure. Dominique Hatfield is also in a similar position, as is Darious Williams and Dont’e Deayon. A strong performance against the Raiders will go a long way toward helping Peterson’s chances.
