Watch ramraid on Leeds jewellers as masked gang smash car into store in brazen attack

The video above shows the moment that a group of masked men smashed their way into a jewellers in Leeds and stole £30,000 worth of goods.

Dozens of onlookers watched on in shock as the gang carried out the brazen robbery at around 6.15pm on Wednesday, November 3 on Roundhay Road - a busy route which runs right through the heart of Harehills.

The CCTV footage reveals how one of the suspects repeatedly reverses a black Nissan Turano into the front of Rajput Jewellers to break through the window.

Another vehicle - a Nissan Juke - is then parked nearby, blocking traffic on Roundhay Road, as four more members of the gang get out of the second car to grab goods as the store's security fog system is activated.

The driver joins the other members of the group before they all flee the scene.

Dozens of people quickly gathered round the store as the group left behind a scene of utter devastation, with shattered glass littering the pavement and traffic coming to a standstill.

West Yorkshire Police have since revealed the Nissan Turano was left abandoned at the scene and the getaway vehicle was later found abandoned in Burmantofts. It was reported stolen earlier this week.

Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information which may assist this investigation is asked to contact Leeds District Crime Team on 101, or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.

The crime reference is 13200551192.

Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
