Watch: Raiders rookie CB Trayvon Mullen follows Antonio Brown’s lead and holds his own

Leadership doesn’t have to be contrived. If the experienced and accomplished show the way, the ambitious will follow.

For the Raiders, their seasoned wide receiver, Antonio Brown, has displayed a world-class work ethic since he came to Oakland, via social media and official team practices.

And during an offseason workout Tuesday night, rookie cornerback Trayvon Mullen not only followed Brown’s lead, but he also held his own with the All-Pro wideout.

Here’s footage of the two players battling on a deep route by Brown, courtesy of The Mercury News’ Matt Schneidman and Brown’s Instagram account.

It’s unclear who threw the pass, but both Brown and Mullen have a chance at the football. That’s not surprising when considering their 40-yard dash times; Mullen ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at the combine while Brown ran a 4.46 back in 2010, per NFL Media.

Though it’s early July, neither gave up until the end of the play. Brown knows what it takes to succeed in the NFL, and Mullen realizes if he can match Brown, his career has promise. He must have ambitions of being among the best. Somewhere, coach Jon Gruden must be smiling.
