Over the next several years, we can and will debate whether or not it was smart of the Raiders to take Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell with the No. 4 overall selection. However, what we can’t debate is Ferrell’s character.
The more you read and hear about Ferrell, the more there is to love. In a recent video series presented by Hyundai, Ferrell talks about what motivated him to double down on academics and athletics. When the Raiders drafted Ferrell, general manager Mike Mayock demanded the Ferrell become a leader on this Oakland defense. Judging by his character and his work ethic, that shouldn’t be a problem at all. The 2018 team captain for the National Champion Clemson Tigers is precisely what this Raiders’ roster needed.
