Just when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) seemed to be cruising after winning the toss and opting to bat, Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) New Zealand allrounder Rachin Ravindra came up with a stunning catch on his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut to dismiss the dangerous-looking RCB captain Faf du Plessis, which triggered a mini collapse.
RCB were 41 for no loss in 4.2 overs when Du Plessis's attempt to hit another boundary off Mustafizur Rahman found Ravindra running in from deep covers to lunge forward and take a stunning catch. Du Plessis scored 35 off 23 balls.
Mustafizur then dismissed Rajat Patidar for a duck off the last ball of the fifth over to make it 41 for 2. One run later, in the last over of the Powerplay, Deepak Chahar removed Glenn Maxwell for zero to make things worse for the visitors at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Virat Kohli, who was watching the procession of his fellow batters, meanwhile went on to complete 12,000 runs in T20 cricket when he reached six. However, his stay was also ended by Mustafizur when he dismissed the Indian batting icon for 21, caught by Ravindra.

Cameron Green became Mustafizur's fourth wicket, when the Australian allrounder was cleaned up by the Bangladesh pacer, which reduced RCB to 78 for 5 in 11.4 overs.
