It was November 2014 when Patrick Mahomes last played against Quandre Diggs. The Chiefs QB and reigning NFL MVP probably doesn’t recall the Pro Bowl Lions safety too fondly.
Mahomes was quarterbacking Texas Tech against Texas, for whom Diggs was a senior cornerback. Back then Mahomes was a backup forced into action when regular starter Davis Webb got hurt the week before against TCU. Mahomes had problems finishing this game — his first career start for the Red Raiders — thanks to a “big league hit” from Diggs, as the commentary from the coverage of the game describes.
