Watch: QB coach breaks down Chargers rookie Easton Stick

The Chargers used their fifth-round selection of the 2019 NFL draft with former North Dakota State quarterback Easton Stick.

Los Angeles had been connected to Stick throughout the pre-draft process, and it’s no surprise that the team loved his production, translatable traits and intangibles.

Stick took over for Eagles’ Carson Wentz as the Bison’s starting quarterback after he was drafted in 2016, where he led them to 49 games over four seasons at North Dakota State.

At 6-foot-1 and 224 pounds, Stick is an athlete with intelligence, toughness, has a winner’s mentality and one who has played in a pro-style offense. But his lack of arm strength, feel in the pocket and processing skills are things that will need worked on while being with the Bolts.

Stick isn’t necessarily the future of the franchise. Instead he was brought in as a young developmental player who will come in and compete with Cardale Jones for the No. 3 quarterback spot on the roster throughout training camp and preseason to start out his professional career.

What can we expect from Stick? How does he fit in this team’s offense? These are commonly asked questions among fans. The team’s quarterback coach Shane Steichen broke down some of his film to display what they loved about him coming out of college and what to expect in the future, courtesy of the team’s official Twitter account.
