WATCH: QB Alex McGough rushes for the Jags’ first touchdown of the preseason

It took a little over seven quarters but the Jacksonville Jaguars finally scored their first touchdown of the season. At roughly nine minutes into the fourth quarter, reserve quarterback Alex McGough was able to take advantage of a Picasso Nelson interception that put the Jags at the Philadelphia Eagles 7-yard line. And though it took them going for it on fourth down, McGough made a wise decision to pull the ball down with all his receivers covered and run it in for five yards.

Check out the two highlight plays that set the Jags up for their first touchdown.

The run wasn’t McGough’s only highlight moment as he rushed to convert a third and 15 situation earlier in the fourth quarter, too.

With McGough and Gardner Minshew making highlight plays on the night, Week 2 could spell the end for Tanner Lee, who as of four minutes into the last quarter, hasn’t seen the field. That said, we’ll see if McGough has impressed enough to at least get a practice squad spot as Minshew looked significantly better than he did on Week 1, while McGough made strides, too.
