Watch Premier League matches at drive-in cinemas as Project Restart plans gather pace

While Premier League football is set to be played behind closed doors on its return, sporting events company 4TheFans are offering the chance to watch games at drive-in screenings.

With fans buoyed by the German Bundesliga's return last weekend, the Premier League took a stride towards its resumption after beginning socially distanced group training sessions on Tuesday, with a June restart still the target.

And when the Premier League does return, matches will be shown on some of the largest outdoor screens throughout the United Kingdom, offering supporters a chance to congregate and watch their beloved teams from the comfort of their vehicles, with commentary to be played through their individual stereos.

Drive-in Football will be brought to a number of cities around the country including London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Brighton, Wolverhampton and more, with refundable tickets starting from £10 - of which a percentage will go to NHS Charities Together.

Fans will be able to order refreshments directly to their vehicles, while prevalent social distancing measures will be enforced, with anyone unnecessarily getting out of their vehicles penalised.

"It’s the news that all football fans have been waiting for - the return of the Premier League," 4TheFans managing director James Hamilton said.

"All the big clubs, the star players, incredible goals, and all the joy and heartbreak which keeps us following our teams, week in and week out.

"Until we can all stand together again on the terraces, Drive-In Football is set to be the most entertaining way to get together with like-minded supporters and enjoy the Premier League."
