Two teenagers aged 15 and 16 have been charged after a stop-and-search at London Euston uncovered a pair of large machetes.
British Transport Police detained the youths over a “ticket issue”.
In a terrifying video posed on social media, one boy in a tracksuit hangs his head as officers conduct a search.
A woman and a small child are seen walking past on Sunday afternoon.
A witness who captured the footage told the Daily Mail they were horrified to see such blades being carried on the London Underground.
They said: “I was watching to see what happened and my [boyfriend] said ‘They are being searched’. The next minute the officers pulled out these massive, huge knives.
“They were even bigger in person, the video doesn’t do it justice.”
The witness said one youth pleaded with officers: “Allow it, please, it’s not mine.”
BTP told the Standard: “At around 2pm on October 5, British Transport Police officers spoke to two boys, aged 15 and 16, in relation to a ticket issue at Euston Underground station.
“Grounds were established for a search and two machetes were recovered.
“Both boys were arrested and taken into custody, where they were further arrested on suspicion of breach of court bail as part of an unrelated matter.
“They were both charged with possession of an offensive weapon and appeared at Bromley Youth Court on Monday.”
