Watch people carrier's near miss after driving through red light on wrong side of road

This is the shocking moment a motorist nearly crashed into oncoming traffic after driving through a red light on the wrong side of the road,

Amy Keith started filming the driver after she spotted him mounting a pavement on St Andrews Road, on June 13 at around 8:30am.

Footage then shows the car edging over a pedestrian crossing at the junction with Cheltenham Road.

He then goes through a red light and nearly causes a head-on smash with a vehicle about to turn into the road. The car is then seen travelling into more oncoming traffic.

Amy, who lives in Horfield said: "I could not believe how dangerous his driving was."

The 30-year-old added: "He put so many lives at risk.  There were a lot of children around because they were going to school.

"Drivers had to stop to avoid crashing into him.

"You don't put lives at risk just to save a bit of time."
