Boston Celtics rookie floor general Payton Pritchard believes he is ready to jump from the frying pan of the NCAA to the fire that is the NBA, which is more than ideal for the team for which he will now be playing.
Speaking at his most recent press availability session of the team during the media week proceedings, the former Oregon Duck related he had already learned the team’s playbook to better prepare for stepping into a big role with starting point guard Kemba Walker on the mend until January. With the All-Star likely out for close to the first ten games of the season, Boston will need Pritchard’s help immediately.
The Oregon native also fielded questions about Danny Ainge’s lasting fame in his home state, what he hopes to learn from the team’s veterans, how he has been adjusting to the faster pace of the pro game and a whole lot more.
