WATCH: Patriots need a kicker after putting Stephen Gostkowski on IR

The New England Patriots have placed the franchise’s leading scorer, kicker Stephen Gostkowski, on injured reserve according to The Boston Globe and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Sunday in the Pats’ 16-10 win versus the Buffalo Bills (3-1), the 35-year-old was slow to get up after he made a tackle on a kickoff. After Wednesday’s practice, the Patriots were in search of the 14-year veteran kicker’s replacement as multiple free agent kickers worked out at Gillette Stadium.

Gostkowski is 7-for-8 on field goals this season, but has missed at least of PAT in each of the Patriots (4-0) last three games. He has 374 made field goal attempts (on 428 tries) over 204 games in his career. Despite his four missed extra points this season, Gostkowski has only missed 11 total PATs in his career.
