Watch: Pathe News report on the 1940 Christmas Blitz in Manchester

Pathe News reported how the Nazis bombed Manchester 'indiscriminately' in the 1940 Christmas Blitz.

The report made no reference to the number of civilians killed but did pay tribute to the work of firefighters and other ARP services.

Newsreel footage showed the devastation in the city centre and also at Manchester Cathedral.
