The Panthers don’t look like a contender on paper this season. Their projected win totals are among the lowest in the NFL and nobody outside of the most homerish fans are expecting them to make a playoff push.
What hope there is must lie in new head coach Matt Rhule and how much he can inspire his young group of players. Talent wins championships, but having players who buy into a coach’s system and having faith in him personally counts for a lot.
