It’s official. The Panthers will not be bringing wide receiver Devin Funchess back for the 2019 season. Funchess broke the news in a video he shared on his social media page, calling himself a “former Carolina Panther and free agent looking for a new team.”
Watch Funchess make the announcement.
Funchess was a second-round pick by Carolina in the 2015 NFL draft. He went on to play in 61 games for the Panthers, posting 161 catches, 2,233 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns.
At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Funchess could still be an intriguing add for NFL teams with a need for size and experience at wide receiver.
