Watch: Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater takes a sack on fourth down

So, this is how the first possession of the game ended for the Panthers against Washington.

Watch struggling Carolina quarterback Teddy Bridgewater tuck the ball on fourth down and take a sack.

To be fair the Washington coverage was tough, here. There might have been a chance to squeeze one in to tight end Ian Thomas at the top but it would have been a very tight window, and Bridgewater simply prefers not to tempt fate on those.

We can call this a coverage sack. It’s also part of a frustrating trend of Bridgewater going off the rails any time the prescribed play breaks down.

If Carolina picks a QB early in the draft, their ability to operate outside of structure has to be key.

In any case, the score is 0-0 late in the first quarter.
