Green Bay Packers receiver Trevor Davis provided the highlight of the night during Friday’s Family Night Scrimmage at Lambeau Field.
Watch above to see Davis go up and over cornerback Nydair Rouse for a splendid catch of a downfield pass from Tim Boyle late in the practice.
Rouse had terrific coverage but Davis used his 38.5″ vertical to sky over the rookie cornerback and make a two-handed catch by plucking the ball out of the air above Rouse’s head along the sideline.
Davis was one of the stars of Family Night. He made several big plays, including the acrobatic catch over Rouse to end the night. He also hauled in a deep ball from rookie Manny Wilkins that likely would have resulted in a 70-yard touchdown.
Davis has stood out throughout the offseason workout program and into training camp. He’s not only the Packers’ top returner and a core special teams player, but he continues to produce big plays in the passing game – giving him a real opportunity to lock down a spot on the 53-man roster with a healthy run through the preseason.
