Watch: Packers score wacky preseason TD vs. Texans

The Green Bay Packers scored a classic preseason touchdown on Thursday night against the Houston Texans.

The wacky play began with a booming punt from JK Scott and ended with receiver Equanimeous St. Brown recovering the fumbled football in the end zone for the score.

Scott’s 56-yard punt was misread by Texans returner Keke Coutee, who slipped while backtracking and then had the football bounce off his body inside the 5-yard line. St. Brown, the gunner on the Packers’ punt coverage unit, was right there to recover the fumble just inside the goal line.

It probably wasn’t what head coach Matt LaFleur had envisioned as the first touchdown scored of the preseason, but it’ll work.

The Packers already have three takeaways. Ka’dar Hollman has an interception, and both St. Brown and Will Redmond have fumble recoveries.

The Packers lead the Texans in the first half, 7-0.
