Watch: Packers rookie Darrius Shepherd catches another TD pass

Green Bay Packers rookie receiver Darrius Shepherd keeps making veteran plays during preseason games.

One week after catching a touchdown pass from DeShone Kizer in the preseason opener, Shepherd – an undrafted free agent from North Dakota State – created another score when he broke open in the end zone and got two feet down inbounds on a pass from Tim Boyle in the third quarter.

Once again, it was a clever second-reaction play that made the score.

After Boyle held the ball in the pocket, Shepherd wheeled around and found just enough space in the back of the end zone for Boyle to deliver the touchdown pass.

In the opener, Shepherd broke off his route and made a tough, spinning catch on a pass from DeShone Kizer in the end zone.

The Packers’ 53-man roster is becoming more and more of a realistic landing spot for the rookie.

Earlier in the game, Shepherd returned a kickoff 36 yards after making a few decisive cuts. He then delivered an 8-yard punt return after making a tough catch and beating the first tackler.

Shepherd keeps making plays as a receiver and a returner. He’s going to be very difficult to keep off the Packers roster to start the 2019 season.
