Watch: Packers defense saves TD with incredible play at goal line

The Green Bay Packers saved a win over the Carolina Panthers with a goal line stop late in the fourth quarter at Lambeau Field last year.

The defense got another incredible stop at the goal line in the first half of Saturday’s matchup with the Panthers.

The play has to be seen to be believed.

An attempt to explain with words: Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater took the snap on first down and attempted to leap over the pile and extend the ball over the goal line, as many quarterbacks do from the 1-yard line, but Packers linebacker Krys Barnes knocked the ball out well before the goal line and cornerback Kevin King picked up the resulting fumble and returned it past midfield.

What looked like a prime scoring opportunity for the underdog Panthers turned into another quick touchdown drive for the Packers, who now lead 21-3.

The Panthers have put together two quality drives on offense but have just three points. The Packers are 3-for-3 scoring touchdowns to start the contest. Bridgewater’s team can’t afford many more mistakes if they want to stay in the game on Saturday night at Lambeau Field.
