If you’d like a little respite from the incessant barrage of Twitter spats and Kanye rants - then Jenno Bjørnkjær and Katherine Mills-Rymer’s strange, cinematic soundscapes may be the antidote.

Having met in New York while Bjørnkjær was working on music for Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, the pair apparently bonded over “a mutual love for French synthesizer music and all things Russian” and now collaborate on haunting music best described as “Lana Del Rey cooing breathily as they find Laura Palmer’s corpse.”

Below is the video premiere for their latest single, a chilling synth pop score that grapples with the concept of love and forgiveness. “Near the end, the song collapses and envelopes itself. The contradiction from the beginning to where the track ends was something we dug,” says Bjørnkjær of I Forgive You.

Their new album, Acute Feast, is due 21 April.
