Houston Texans outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett got a strip-sack of second-year Carolina Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen to change possession and the first quarter momentum.
On a first-and-10 at the Texans’ 24-yard line, Scarlett came off the right side and chased Allen as he scrambled back to the line of scrimmage and forced a fumble. Inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney scooped it up and got the Texans offense their first possession of the game.
For Scarlett, he collects his third career sack and his second forced fumble of his career.
All the big play did was save the Texans from giving up points. On the ensuing drive, the Houston offense eventually punted after the drive stalled out at midfield.
