Watch Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford discuss the RB legacy

The engine of the Ohio State offense may have been Dwayne Haskins and the passing game last year, but there’s not too many programs that have more of a running back tradition than the one in Columbus. The names Archie Griffin, Keith Byars, Eddie George and Ezekiel Elliott just scratch the surface of the many talented ball carriers that have done their work on the banks of the Olentangy.

With all of those greats, it’s current running back J.K. Dobbins that holds the freshman rushing record at Ohio State, and he did it under the watchful eye of running backs coach Tony Alford. But what makes Ohio State a place for running backs to thrive and develop?

To find out, why not hear from the guy leading the room himself? Watch the below video shared to Ohio State football’s official Twitter page that revolves around hard work and family. You’ll hear from Alford, Dobbins and even Elliott as they describe the culture at Ohio State.

Count me among the many looking forward to seeing what kind of year J.K. Dobbins will have as the clear No. 1 back in 2019.
