Watch Ohio State basketball freshman Ibrahima Diallo travel to Senegal to surprise his mother after three years

Sometimes there’s moments in life that give you a bit of a break from all the negativity in the media and political climate. We bring you one today from what was shared by Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann’s Twitter feed.

Ohio State basketball freshman Ibrahima Diallo left his native Senegal to pursue his dream of playing basketball in the United States in November of 2016. He went from Senegal to Bradenton, FL, then to Prolific Prep High School in Napa, CA for his senior season.

To chase the dream required great sacrifice however. It was too expensive for his mother and extended family to make the trip to the United States with him, so with their blessing, he did so without knowing when they would see each other again.

Well, it’s been almost three years now, and Diallo has finally been able to travel back to his home, ring the doorbell, and provide his mother and family with no doubt one of the biggest surprises of their lives.

Watch as Diallo hides around the corner, buzzes in, then comes through the door to kick off a family reunion and embrace like none other. Such a cool moment, we can only imagine the conversations, food and love that continued beyond what we saw in the video.

There aren’t words to express how fantastic this is.
