May 11--"The Odd Couple" star Thomas Lennon said he's a bit skeptical about psychics after visiting one on North Avenue years ago.
"I think we went to her because she was next to a bar that didn't ID," Lennon, 45, said on Tuesday's episode of "The Late Late Show with James Corden."
Lennon, who grew up in Oak Park, said he frequented the psychic until he ran into her at a miniature golf course and she asked how he was doing.
"And I thought, 'You're a psychic, you tell me,'" Lennon said. "And I never went to her again, and I think other part of it is, because once you see your psychic at a mini-golf place, a lot of the mystery has now been taken away."
Lennon told the story after fellow "Late Late Show" guest Jane Lynch, who was born in Evergreen Park and raised in Dolton, said she recently visited psychics in Ojai, Calif.
Lynch plans to return to Chicago soon. Her cabaret-style comedy show "See Jane Sing" is set to stop at the Lyric Opera June 17-18.
"The Late Late Show" airs 11:37 p.m. weeknights on CBS.
