Watch Nottinghamshire Police officers bust some funky moves at socially-distanced outdoor zumba class

Not even police officers are immune to the lure of throwing a few shapes to some absolute bangers it seems.

Taking a brief break from duties, two coppers were filmed joining in a socially-distanced outdoor zumba class this afternoon (April 3) on the streets of Broxtowe.

Throwing themselves into the community spirit and getting more than a few cheers from onlookers in lockdown, the officers busted out some pretty impressive moves to C+C Music Factory's Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).

Organised by community project Evolve Nottingham and fronted by instructor 'Charm' the flashmob-inspired class had residents dancing in their front gardens and out on the road - all at a safe distance from each other.

Starting at Westleigh Road at 11am the moving dance-athon ended 90 minutes later at Whitwell Close.

Organisers took to the Evolve Facebook page to remind people not to travel to the zumba class locations but did suggest there may be more to come.

The post read: "Remember stay at home, stay safe, protect the NHS, do not travel to these locations. If we get enough requests we will come to your street sometime soon."

The footage was captured by ITV Central journalist Mark Kielesz-Levine, who shared the fun on his Twitter account writing "Another street in Broxtowe, Nottingham, another Zumba party! Police stealing the show I feel! This is just brilliant. People urged to join in from their doorsteps!"

The live broadcast has been watched more than 2,000 times.

Graham Chapman, councillor of Aspley Ward, was certainly a fan, sharing the footage himself.

Taking to Twitter he said: "This is in my ward and these are our coppers, who have contributed to a substantial decline in crime over the last few years... .but I don’t know if their reputations will withstand this display!

"Proud of them, of the residents who joined in and Evolve who organised it."
