WATCH: Nick Foles puts pen to paper, says he’s ‘super excited’ to be a Jag

Nick Foles officially put pen to paper and signed his contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday morning, officially making him a member of the team. Afterward, he had a brief conversation with Ashlyn Sullivan of Jaguars.com about his journey, and made it clear that he’s happy with his decision and is ready to lead the team back to the postseason.

Prior to the Jaguars’ 2018 season when they were thought to be Super Bowl competitors, most labeled them as a team who were “a quarterback away” from the promise land. Apparently, they felt the same way after looking at the money they’re investing in him and it looks as though they feel like he’ll be able to give them a dynamic Blake Bortles couldn’t in the passing game.

The Jags also seem to be high on his leadership skills, which were showcased in his two recent playoff runs with the Philadelphia Eagles. All that said, the Jags will now need to focus on getting weapons around him like he had in Philly, and with the free agent market drying up, the draft may be the key to do that.
